I grew up on this course. I have played every iteration of the course over the decades. I could probably sleepwalk this course. And I can tell you this:
Alderbrook has never been in better shape than it is right now! The greens are absolutely fantastic. I can only imagine what this place will look like once ownership gets through a full season.
All golfers should reacquainte themselves with this classic coastal course. You will not be disappointed.
I love the changes being made to the course. I am a part time resident in Oceanside and The Mook, formerly Alderbrook, is the only golf course around. It has greatly needed upgrading and the new owners are doing their part in performing that task. Their immediate improvement of trimming the fairway trees was a great first start, flattening the back side fairways the perfect second action and the proposed reconfiguration of the back side will make it much more playable.
Of course, the greens and tee boxes need work and I’m confident those will be improved through time.
Refreshed and newly opened. Fun layout and holes. Beautiful views from the high points. Lots of streams and natural features. Sid who runs the pro shop is really nice. Rental clubs were brand new and reasonable to rent. Nice clean golf carts. Course wasn’t crowded and green fees were very reasonable. It is a great course for the price.
Loving the improvements made and planned! Combining the old #12 and #13 to make a par 5 is genious, and the new water protected par 3 (aptly numbered "13") will be a great addition. Can't wait to get back to Tilly this summer and play the newly improved course!
Snuck away last weekend got a quick 18 in here. I’ve been excited to try the course since it reopened and I really enjoyed it. Has a few shots that you really need to think about when you step up to them. Tucked pins and some small greens made it play a little more difficult than the slope rating suggests. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Hidden gem on the north coast! For food, drinks, events and golf.
Beautiful grounds, tasty menu (crispy cauliflower and fries mushrooms were a hit!) and the sweetest server, Annie.
After dinner we enjoyed a cruise around the stunning greens. If I were planning a local event, it’d be HERE!
This golf course is in the process of becoming great! Can’t wait to come back next summer when the work is finished. The clubhouse is stunning and party ready!
We are thrilled that the “hydrangea” King has taken ownership of this golf course to help improve the area and boost local economy. I’m not a golfer yet but walk around the golf course area all the time and would love to see an area constructed around the course for pedestrians to walk with their leashed dogs. We can’t have enough trails!
